COMPETITION RULES & GUIDELINES

TEAMS:

24 total teams. Teams will consist of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 6 total players per team.

DEFENSE:

1 Pitcher, 1 Catcher, 2 Fielders. Catcher must be in foul territory until the ball is put in play. If the team has more than 4 players, the 5th and 6th players cannot be involved in any plays on defense.

Substitutions can be made at any time throughout the game after the inning is complete. Once the inning has started, the defenders that you have selected for that defensive inning cannot be replaced unless injured.

All outs made are the same rules that MLB has, meaning force plays and tag plays, with the exception of “Pegs”. The Defenders may throw the ball at any runner, and if the balls hits any part of the runner below the neck, the runner is called out.

OFFENSE:

You must establish a hitting order (up to 6 batters) and must stick to that order throughout the game.

There will be no attempting to Bunt.

3 strikes is an out. 4 balls is a walk.

PITCHING:

Before 2 strikes you may throw any type of pitch, but the pitch must have arc.

With 2 strikes you may throw and pitch as hard as you would like.

If the batter is hit with a pitch, he may choose to walk or clear the count.

There will be a strike zone to determine balls and strikes.

BASERUNNING:

All baserunning will be the same as MLB rules .

Must Tag up on fly balls.

No “Ghost Runners” - if there is a runner on base and his/hers batting spot comes up, the team must move the batter from the team that isn’t on base to the base of the upcoming hitter.
