Adrian Peterson

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is tall, fast, and fearless. Born March 21, 1985 the small town athlete right out of Palestine, Texas began playing sports at a young age as an outlet to deal with family issues. Making great out of a negative situation, Peterson throughout his childhood was dedicated to the game and went onto Westwood High School to accumulate 2,960 yards and 32 touchdowns his senior year. At this point it was made clear to him that he was better than average and that he would have his choice of colleges to choose from. After tedious consideration of several big name football schools, Peterson made the choice to join the Oklahoma Sooners as he began his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma in 2005. It was only the beginning of his success when during his freshman season; Peterson gained 1,925 yards, smashing the NCAA’s freshmen rushing record.  He continued for three years to dominate on the collegiate field, deciding to forego his senior season and take on the NFL.

Despite the injury to his collarbone during his college years and death of a close family member, Peterson took adversity head on. The Minnesota Vikings drafted Adrian 7th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft.During the Viking opener against the Falcons, Peterson had 103 yards and a 60 yard catch and run. Greatness only continued as Peterson went on to break loose for 224 yards against the Bears and 296 yards against the Chargers. These accomplishments along with many others placed him among the elite surpassing the 1,000 yard mark just after his 8th game, setting a record for players in their first year.

Peterson had over 1,200 rushing yards in each of his first four seasons, and despite an injury in 2011, he surpassed 6,000 career yards. After a great five great years with the Vikings, one can only imagine the success and yards to come for Adrian as this upcoming season approaches. Peterson accomplishments include being selected to four Pro Bowls, four NFL All-Pro teams and also winning Rookie of the Year in 2007. He also is known for his NFL Rushing Title in 2008 and is noted as the Pro Bowl MVP in 2011. It is clear to players, coaches and football fans from any team that he is one of the best running backs in the NFL today.

Testimonials

  • Next year I will refer some more of my son’s friends that are football players! I know their expectations will be met and they will have a great time! I plan on it being a summer tradition to attend this camp for both of my boys. My 5 year old wanted to get out on the field and do the drills so badly!!!!! I told him all you have is a year and a half and you can go to this very camp! He is ecstatic! Thank you for the GREAT experience you provided for my little family!
