Oden, Conley & Cook Buckeye Stars Basketball Camp

 
Greg Oden
 
Greg and Lawrence North teammate Mike Conley, Jr. announced that they would be attending The Ohio State University starting with the 2006-2007 season.  The Big Ten honored Oden with Player of the Week on January 29, 2007 after he averaged 18 points and 11.5 rebounds.  On March 6, 2007, Oden was named First Team All-Big Ten as well being voted the conference's Defensive Player of the Year.  He was named to the Associated Press All-American Team and one of only two freshmen voted to the All-American First Team since 1990 and the third and fourth overall.  Along side Mike Conley, Daequan Cook and Ron Lewis, Oden helped the Buckeyes to the 2007 NCAA Final Four.  He was selected as the 2007 Number One Draft pick by the Portland Trailblazers.
 
During the 2009-2010 season with the Trailblazers, Oden matched his career high points set in the 2008-2009 season with 24 points during his game against the Chicago Bulls. Oden also set a new career-high with 20 rebounds against the Miami Heat.
 
 
Mike Conley
 
He attended The Ohio State University with Lawrence North teammate Greg Oden.  Conley averaged 11.7 points and led the Big Ten Conference in assists with 6.1 per game.  His best tournament performance came against Xavier University.  In the overtime period, Mike Conley dominated scoring 11 of his 21 point total for the game.  Conley along side Oden, Daequan Cook and Ron Lewis helped the Buckeyes to the 2007 NCAA Final Four.  He ended the season with 441 total points and 238 total assists.  Conley was selected in the first round, 4th overall, in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies.
 
Conley made his first major appearance in January during the 2008 season. Conley's first five games of January featured him scoring 5, 10, 11, 11 and 15 points, respectively. Conley also had 7 assists in the 101–94 victory over the Miami Heat. In their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Conley scored a season-high 20 points with 7 assists. He then followed up with 7 points and 8 assists against the Seattle Supersonics. In the victory over the Chicago Bulls, Conley scored 10 points and 10 assists, followed by 13 points against the Orlando Magic. Conley averaged 10 points and 4.1 assists per game.
 
Conley's efforts during the 2008-2009 season enabled him to become the Memphis Grizzlies starting point guard. Conley averaged 14.8 points and 5.7 assists per game.
 
 
Daequan Cook
 
One of OSU coach Thad Matta's famed "Thad Five," averaged 10.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.7 steals with an average playing time of 20.4 minutes off the bench.  Cook, with Oden, Conley and Ron Lewis helped the Buckeyes to the 2007 NCAA Final Four.  He was selected in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft-21st overall by the Miami Heat.  Cook averaged 8.2 points per game in his rookie season with the Miami Heat before being sent down to the NBA D-League in late February.  In his second game back on March 10th, he scored a career high with 23 points.  Cook finished his first NBA season averaging 8.5 points and 3 assists per game.
 
Cook continued to improve and finished the 2008-2009 season averaging 9.1 points per game and 0.9 assists. Cook remains an offensive threat for the Miami Heat as shooting guard during the 2009-2010 season. During their game against the Atlanta Redhawks, Cook scored 17 points with 7-of-12 shooting and three 3-pointers. Cook and the Miami Heat are looking to continue their winning season.

The Buckeye Stars Basketball Camp will be staffed with the Columbus' area's top prep coaches.  Each coach will bring a unique basketball background to the camp with the ability to share techniques and philosophies with campers on a daily basis.
