Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade is not only one of the greatest stars in all of sport, but an exemplary role model. He has made charitable contributions through the Dwyane Wade Foundation which promotes social, educational, and athletic enrichment for young people.

The dynamic guard reached the highest level of hoops performance when he led the Miami Heat to the 2005-06 NBA Championship by being named NBA Finals MVP after averaging 34.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. "Flash," as he is known because of his explosive quickness is a three-time NBA All-Star and member of the All-NBA Team.

Wade started out the 2006-07 season with an injury. He ended up coming back from missing 31 games and averaged 27.4 points, 7.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. He became NBA’s leader in player efficiency rating (PER). He made the All-Star team for the third straight year in a row. Wade also helped contribute greatly to the Heat while in playoffs with an average of 23.5 points, 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. Likewise he averaged about the same numbers for the 2007-08 season with 24.6 points, 6.9 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. Again, he was voted to the All- Star game for his fourth straight year.

Starting out the 2008-09 season, Wade, along with the U.S.A. Olympic team won the gold medal. During the regular season, Wade was the second player to get 40 points, 10 assists and 5 blocks in a game. These impressive numbers made it possible for Wade to get voted back to his fifth straight All-Star game. He was also the first person in NBA history to get 2,000 point, 500 assists, 100 steals and 100 blocks. During this season, Wade averaged 30.2 points, 7.5 assists, 5 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.

Dwyane reached his second best season in 2009-10. In his third game, he reached his 10,000 career point. In April, he got the honor of Player of the Month. He averaged 26.9 points and 7.5 assist which was third in the Eastern conference. He was also first in steals with 2.3 steals per game. Yet again, Wade was elected to his sixth straight All-Star game and became the MVP.

The 2010-11 season started out with a big trade of Chris Bosh and LeBron James to join Dwyane in Miami. The “Big Three” would lead the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals in their first year together. Unfortunately, the Heat came up just short in reaching their goals to be NBA Champions. But, Dwyane would make his seventh straight NBA All-Star appearance and this year he looks to make his eighth straight. Dwyane is currently Miami's all-time leading scorer and assist leader in the franchises history.
