Jason Witten

Born on May 6, 1982 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, Witten actually began his collegiate career at the University of Tennessee as a defensive end, but he switched to tight end as a freshman. In three years, he quickly became one of the best tight ends in college football and left school after his junior season. He was selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft (69th overall). A model of durability, Witten has appeared in 97 of a possible 98 games, missing just one game after breaking his jaw against Arizona and undergoing surgery to have three plates put in on Oct. 6, 2003. Through eight seasons, Jason Witten has emerged as one of the top tight ends in the NFL and one of the most prolific pass catching tight ends in Dallas Cowboys history. He has appeared in seven consecutive Pro Bowls, the most Pro Bowl appearances by a Cowboys tight end. Witten had his best season in 2007 establishing a club tight end record with 96 catches while also becoming the first tight end in franchise history - 13th in league history - to top 1,000 yards in a season. His 96 catches during the 2007 season also tied him for third-most ever by a tight end in the league and were the most by an NFC tight end. On December 9th, 2007 versus the Detroit Lions, Witten’s 15 receptions tied an NFL record for most receptions in a game by a tight end. His reception total from 2007 allowed him to become just the eighth tight end in league history, first in Cowboys history, to put together four consecutive seasons with at least 60 catches. Jason now owns the top spot for career receiving yards among Cowboys tight ends. His 429 receptions currently place him fifth all-time receiving and his 4,935 total yards are sixth all-time for the Cowboys. Witten has been a part of the Pro Bowl 8 times and All Pro 6 times. In 2013 he won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, honoring his volunteer and charity work as well as excellence on the field.

Rod Huber

Rod Huber returned in 2010 for his 11th season as the College of Mount St. Joseph’s head coach. Huber has 27 years of coaching experience at the high school and college level and has been on the Mount's football staff since the program’s inception in 1990.

Coach Huber led the Lions' program to three straight HCAC championships from 2004-2006, and the Lions 9-2 overall mark last season was their eighth straight season of a .500 or better record. The Lions claimed the 2009 HCAC championship with a 7-0 mark, their fourth HCAC title in program history, which enabled them to qualify to the NCAA Division III playoffs, marking their fifth overall appearances in the post-season tournament. The Mount is also the only team in HCAC history to record three straight conference titles. In addition, Huber was named HCAC Coach of the Year last fall, his third such honor. Prior to becoming the third head coach in Lions’ football history in 2000, Huber was a defensive position coach and spent four years as the Lions’ defensive coordinator. He also coached the College’s wrestling program for four seasons. During the 1999-2000 season the team garnered Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament and NCAA Division III Midwest Regional championships. Huber was named conference and regional Coach of the Year that season. Upon graduation from high school, he entered the U.S. Army where he played football and spent time in Germany and the U.S. After leaving the Army, Huber enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in social studies education in 1988. He began his coaching career at Lloyd Memorial High School ( Kentucky ) in 1982, moved on to Glen Este for one season (1986) and later coached outside linebackers at C.A.P.E. High School (1987-1988).

Coach Huber is an active member in the Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association (SWOFCA), the American Football Coaches Association and is a member of the Jason Taylor Foundation. Coach Huber has directed youth football camps for many pro athletes including Jason Taylor, Chris Cooley, Chris Johnson, and Steve Smith.
