Jonathan Stewart

Carolina Panther running back Jonathan Stewart was born on March 21, 1987 in Fort Lewis, Washington.  He played three years at the University of Oregon where he was selected to be a member of the All-PAC-10 teams twice. After his junior season he decided to forgo his senior season at Oregon and enter the NFL Draft. Stewart was selected 13th overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2008 NFL Draft.

In only the second game of his rookie season, Stewart led the Panthers back from a first half deficit against the Chicago Bears, by scoring the first two touchdowns of his NFL career and finishing with 77 yards.  His first 100 yard game came in week 11 against the Detroit Lions in which he finished with 130 yards on 15 carries and 1 TD. He repeated the achievement again in week 14 by rushing for 115 yards and 2 TD’s against division rival Tampa Bay. Although Stewart split carries most of his rookie season, he still set the Carolina Panthers rookie rushing record with 836 yards and 10 TD’s.
In 2009, Stewart set a career high with 1,133 yards and tied a career high with 10 touchdowns.  Stewart surpassed 3,500 career rushing yards during week 17 in 2011.

Camp Director Rod Huber

Rod Huber begins his eighth season as the Mt. St. Joseph Lions’ head coach for the College’s 18th football season. The Lions head coach will also direct the team’s defense in 2007. Huber led the program to a third straight HCAC championship last fall, as the Lions went 7-0 in conference play. The Mount became the first team in HCAC history to record three straight conference titles.

The HCAC title enabled the Lions to return to the NCAA Division III playoffs for the third straight season, as they took on Wheaton College in the first round. The Mount had 15 players selected all-conference (best in the conference), the HCAC Offensive Most Valuable Player and the HCAC Defensive co-Most Valuable Player. The Lions also had one of the top overall and rushing defenses in the nation again last season. In addition, the Mount was ranked among the top teams in 2006 in various national polls. Huber is a two-time HCAC Coach of the Year and has the most wins of any Mount football coach in program history, sporting a 41-32 record.

Huber has 25 years of coaching experience at the high school and college level and has been on the Mount football staff since the program’s inception in 1990. Prior to becoming the third head coach in Lions’ football history in 2000, Huber was a defensive position coach and spent four years as the Lions’ defensive coordinator.

Upon graduation from high school, he entered the U.S. Army where he played football and spent time in Germany and the U.S. After leaving the Army, Huber enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in social studies education in 1988. He began his coaching career at Lloyd Memorial High School ( Kentucky ) in 1982, moved on to Glen Este for one season (1986) and later coached outside linebackers at C.A.P.E. High School (1987-1988).

Coach Huber is an active member in the Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association (SWOFCA), the American Football Coaches Association and is a member of the Jason Taylor Foundation. Coach Huber has directed youth football camps for many pro athletes including Jason Taylor, Devin Hester, and Steve Smith.

Testimonials

  • "It has been 3 months since my grandson Jordan Hanson went to your summer camp. I have been wanting to write to you thanking you for the wonderful time he had. At 7 he's been through a lot in his little life, but your camp is a great memory. A shelf was just put up in his room so he could have his pictures there in his room. He's in the 2nd grade this year and doing very well. Your camp gave him some confidence. He has a love for baseball and is a natural at it. He loves to hit the ball way out there. I like the fact that he had this opportunity. Everyone there that I came into contact with was wonderful, but to him they were "great". I have heard if you are good at something it is good to have a lot of different experiences. Well guess what....he watching the Seahawks now and even more learning players names and the plays of the game!!! Opportunities like him being able to go to your camp is a great thing for kids. Jordan is a big kid but he's nice, not a bully. Your camp experience really helps in that aspect of his person. I use a lot of words (perhaps not correctly) but I just really mean thank you very much. You may never know the wonderful impact this has had on this young boy. And that has an impact on a grandmother raising a wounded little boy........hoping he'll be a full and well man. You've had a part in that and I hope you continue to reach out to the kids. Keep up the GREAT work and if there is a way to thank each of the guys who came....please do." Jeannie Hanson
