Colin Kaepernick

San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick was born on November 3, 1987 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He played college football at the University of Nevada. Coming out of high school, Colin was a highly recruited baseball pitcher, he turned down signing with the Chicago Cubs and instead continued his football career at Nevada. As a 4.0 GPA student at John H. Pitman High School in California, he received awards such as MVP of the Central California Conference in football and was a two-time all-state baseball player.

In 2006, Kaepernick joined the Wolfpack. As a red-shirt freshman, Colin came into his team's fifth game of the season and amassed an amazing 384 yards passing and four touchdowns in a little over a half of play. He would earn Freshman of the Year honors and finished the season with the fifth best passing efficiency in the NCAA. His sophomore year he became the fifth player in NCAA history to pass for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards as he received the MVP of the Humanitarian Bowl and was named the WAC Offensive Player of the Year. In his junior season he became part of the first trio of teammates in NCAA history to rush 1,000 yards in the same season. In his senior season, Colin led his team to a share of the WAC title and was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2009. He is the only quarterback in Division I FBS college football to pass for over 10,000 yards and rush for over 4,000 yards in a career.
