Stations and Fundamentals

Each day, the campers will experience various stations, specializing in fundamental skills of football. Individual groups will be small to assure that each camper gets maximum instruction from the top football coaches in the Cleveland area.
 

Games and Competition

Campers will participate in daily games, stations, and skill contests during the Colt McCoy Football ProCamp. Each camper will be placed on a team according to his or her age.
 

Instructional Lectures

Colt McCoy will give daily talks highlighting the finer points of the game of football and beyond. Parents and guests will be able to listen to camp guests in designated areas at each location. 
 

Camp Store

Snacks, drinks and assorted camp items will be available for purchase.
 

Camp Concessions

For the convenience and safety of the campers, a Camp Bracelet will be available for $10. The Camp Bracelet includes 2 sports drinks, lunch, and 1 snack each day. Bracelets are non-refundable.

Inclement Weather Policy 

In the event of heavy rain or inclement weather, the camp will be moved to a nearby indoor facility. Camp instruction and other related activities will continue inside the facility. Parents will be notified of the indoor location in the Camp Bulletin that they receive at check-in on the first day of camp. 
 
Alternate days/make-up sessions/refunds will not be offered. The decision to modify the schedule rests solely with the camp director and management.

 

Colt McCoy

In 2010, Colt was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 3rdRound of the NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Colt made 8 starts for the Browns, accumulating 1,576 yards on 135 completions. By the end of the season, he threw for 6 touchdowns and ran for one as well. He ranked 2ndamong NFL rookies in passing yards per game and touchdown passes, despite playing in only 8 games the 2010 season.
 
Before the NFL, Colt was a standout Quarterback for the Texas Longhorns. In 2006, Colt became the starting Quarterback as a redshirt freshman, leading his team to a 56-7 victory over North Texas where he tallied four total touchdowns and no interceptions. On October 14th, 2006 he set a Texas record by throwing for 6 touchdowns against Baylor, breaking the record of 5 held by James Brown and Chris Simms. He would conclude his freshman season by tying the NCAA record for touchdown passes by a freshman with 29. His stellar sophomore season began with a bang by breaking two school records of 47 pass attempts and 32 completions in a single game against UCF. His season would be plagued by injury, but still managed to not miss a game and still throw 21 touchdown passes. The season was capped by a victory in the 2007 Holiday Bowl over 11thranked Arizona State where Colt was awarded the offensive-player MVP.

In 2008, Colt began the first 4 games of the season by completing 80% of his passes and compiling a quarterback rating of 209.71. It was in this time that he broke the Texas record for touchdown passes when 62 in his victory over rice. Colt set the school record of 31 career victories in the rival blowout of Texas A&M, during which he completed his season with 3,594 passing yards, another Texas record. The season was finalized on January 5th, 2009 with a 24-21 victory over Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl where Colt was named Offensive Player of the Game.

In his senior season, Colt lead his team to a perfect regular season record of 12-0, and topped it off with a Big 12 Championship title over Nebraska in route to the BCS National Championship Game. By season’s end, Colt had established himself as the winningest quarterback in NCAA history with a superb total of 45 victories. He would also graduate as the only quarterback in NCAA football history to win at least ten games in 4 straight seasons. He would go on to receive numerous awards in 2009 including First Team All-American by the Associated Press, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm (most outstanding senior quarterback), Davey O’Brien (nations best quarterback), Chic Harley (College football player of the year), Maxwell Award (Best player in NCAA football), and finally was honored by having his #12 jersey retired from the University of Texas.

Colt played high school football at Jim Ned High School, a division 2A program in Tuscola, Texas. He was twice voted at the Associated Press 2A Offensive MVP and a First-Team All-State selection. He finished his career by completing 536 pass for 9,344 yards and 116 touchdowns. He stands on top of the list for all-time passing leader in Texas 2A history and 4thin state history. He made one appearance in the Texas 2A State Championship and also lettered in both Track and Basketball.

Camp Director Rod Huber

Rod Huber returned in 2010 for his 11th season as the College of Mount St. Joseph’s head coach. Huber, who directed the team’s defense in 2007-08, has 27 years of coaching at the high school and college level and has been on the Mount football staff since the program’s inception in 1990. Coach Huber led the program to a three straight HCAC championship (2004-2006), and the Lions 9-2 overall mark last season was their eighth straight season of a .500 or better record. The Lions claimed the 2009 HCAC championship with a 7-0 mark, their fourth HCAC title in program history, which enabled them to qualify to the NCAA Division III playoffs, marking their fifth overall appearances in the post-season tournament. The Mount is also the only team in HCAC history to record three straight conference titles. In addition, Huber was named HCAC Coach of the Year last fall, his third such honor.
 
Huber has over 25 years of coaching at the high school and college level and has been on the Mount football staff since the program’s inception in 1990. Prior to becoming the third head coach in Lions’ football history in 2000, Huber was a defensive position coach and spent four years as the Lions’ defensive coordinator. He also coached the College’s wrestling program for four seasons. During the 1999-2000 season the team garnered Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament and NCAA Division III Midwest Regional championships. Huber was named conference and regional Coach of the Year that season.
 
Upon graduation from high school, he entered the U.S. Army where he played football and spent time in Germany and the U.S. After leaving the Army, Huber enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in social studies education in 1988. He began his coaching career at Lloyd Memorial High School ( Kentucky ) in 1982, moved on to Glen Este for one season (1986) and later coached outside linebackers at C.A.P.E. High School (1987-1988). Coach Huber is an active member in the Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association (SWOFCA), the American Football Coaches Association and is a member of the Jason Taylor Foundation. Coach Huber has directed youth football camps for many pro athletes including Adrian Peterson, Jason Taylor, Chris Johnson, and Reggie Bush.
